2 (e) Each director must qualify to serve as director in the
3 manner provided by Section 36.055 [cct-.n- 51.07 d 1.07],
4 Water Code.
5 SECTION 4. Chapter 712, Acts of the 71st Legislature,
6 Regular Session, 1989, is amended by adding Sections 10A and 10B to
7 read as follows:
8 Sec. 10A. DIRECTOR ELECTIONS. On the uniform election date
9 in November of each even-numbered year, the appropriate number of
10 directors shall be elected.
11 Sec. 10B. LOCATION OF DISTRICT ELECTIONS. A district
12 election may be held at any location in Crockett County.
13 SECTION 5. Sections 7(b) and (c) and 10, Chapter 712, Acts
14 of the 71st Legislature, Regular Session, 1989, are repealed.
15 SECTION 6. Notwithstanding Section 7(d), Chapter 712, Acts
16 of the 71st Legislature, Regular Session, 1989, as amended by this
17 Act:
18 (1) the terms of the directors of the Emerald
19 Underground Water Conservation District who were elected in May
20 2005 expire December 1, 2008; and
21 (2) the terms of the directors of the Emerald
22 Underground Water Conservation District who are elected in May 2007
23 expire December 1, 2010.
24 SECTION 7. (a) The legal notice of the intention to
25 Introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this
26 Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a
27 copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,
