Chapter 356 S.B. No. 246 1 AN ACT 2 relating to the management and maintenance of certain land located 3 south of the Sam Houston Building by the State Preservation Board. 4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 5 SECTION 1. Section 443.007, Government Code, is amended by 6 adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: 7 (e) The board shall manage and maintain the two adjacent 8 landscaped areas bordered and separated by contiguous concrete 9 sidewalks abutting the south side of the Sam Houston Building. 10 SECTION 2. Charge and control of the land described by 11 Subsection (e), Section 443.007, Government Code, as added by this 12 Act, is transferred from the Texas Building and Procurement 13 Commission to the State Preservation Board. 14 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 15 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 16 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this 17 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 18 Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
