A crowd. of young people, chape-
roned by Mrs. Robert Bradbury, en-
joyed the evning of yesterday at
Sabine lake. The party left on the
launch Nichola^s at 7:30 and reached
the lake about 8:30. Bathing was
the pastime of the evening and
those present say they had tbeir fill
^The night was a perfect' one. All
nature semed to have united in mak-
ing that party a^ Success. The stars
twinkled so fast that th'ey appeared
to be trying to outd*£ each Other in
shining their brightest. The weather
was warm and balmy. The lake was
so calm and clear and bright that it
•looked like an immense mirTor.
Those wh<j participated in this en-
joyable trip were: Misses Lois Al-
len, Una Lee Branum, Ivy McFar-
lane, Sophie Cohn, Ethel Bailey, Cor-

A. M. Hickman, who has been
employed as shipping clerk at the
Orange Grocery company, has re-
signed his position with that firm,

Cecil Coale, the 10-year'old son
of A,. H. Coale, was painfully hurt

The Merchants' Ball Team left
at noon for a tour of "Southeast
Texas.
They open the series in Él Campo,
where they play four gaines against
the strong team of that place. They
will cover practically the same/ter-
ritory as that tourned by the O. B.
C. Manager Moore will join the
team in El Campo Sunday. He says
