The couch she lays upon is blue. The mime's clothing is multicolored, he wears a black hat. Most of his face cannot be seen. A tall, french door can be seen behind them along with a curtain.

  • Display Note: In Ruggero Leoncavallo’s 1892 opera “Pagliacci”, the character Canio plays a clown, “Pagliacco”, in a traveling troupe of actors. His wife, Nedda, who is in love with another man, plays the role of “Columbina” in the troupe’s shows. After catching Nedda and her lover, Silvio, Canio stabs Nedda to death on stage during a performance.
