The town is catching numerous tran-
sients, and business is as lively as
ever.
W. H. Hopkins, of the Texas Land
and Cattle company, has been in town
several days receiving 8,000 head of
ones and two for their ranch in Hemp-
hill county. The eattle were bought
of the Laurel Leaf ranch in Southern
Texas and shipped to Vernon, from
whence they will take the trail for
Hemphill county. Mr. Hophins is a
slpendid young gentleman, represents
one of the strongest corporations in
the country, xfld is also a staunch
