looks faroical, though, to elect Congressmen, as only

Enthusiastic meetings are beir.i held throughout
the" North, and sjon.e portions of tlie South approv-
ing the coulee of the President. The Herald calls
for a meeting in San Antonio. Andrew Johnson is
worthy of praise froan the Southern people for re-
sisting the immense pressure of the Radicals, l.et
him now release Davis, Semmcs and othera, and to e
lasting gratitude of Southern hearts will be his.

f3f War is going nn between tl)e t'resident and

right complexion, we suppose.
The ^HoBke has passed a, resolution not to ad-

tiiiual strife. This looks like revolution.
The giore bus been thrown down, and the prof-

iho freaiiiint b^vedone? They would take away
ei'ery right ai.d liberty of the Southern people if
ihev could—tber arc stiiiini; to att.i 'j this end.
Thus lar their him has been, ineasuiably, thwarted.
We don't know what ihe result will be, but all
should tiy lo avert another war, as far us the South
is concerned. We have suffered enough.
