Texas Rangers at Oakland Cemetery
At least two individuals who are purported to have served as Texas Rangers are buried at
Oakland Cemetery. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSL) website provides

Henry Coleman' was born 22 May 1834, Germany, and died 6 Feb 1912. He is interred in
Section 6, Lot 5 of Oakland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. His tombstone and obituary state that he
was a Texas Ranger 1858-1861. Texas State Library and Archives provides records for two
Henry Colemans, but neither is the person buried at Oakland Cemetery.
Frank A. Beaumont was born Jul 1854, Louisiana, and died 16 Dec 1909. He is interred in
Section 18, Tier 3 of Oakland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. According to his record at the Texas
State Library and Archives Commission, he enlisted as a private in George W. Baylor's
Company A of the Frontier Battalion on 15 Oct 1880 at Ysleta, Texas. The Dallas Morning
News reported that he fought the Apaches along the New Mexico border and participated in the
"last battle the Ranger had with the Comanches, which took place in the eastern part of El Paso
