Mr. Sullivant offered the following resolution:
HSR 7
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 64th Legislature,
That, upon completion of the organization of the House, the Speaker of the House
appoint two committees of five members each, one to notify the Governor and one to
notify the Senate, that the House of Representatives is now organized and ready to
transact business.
The resolution was adopted without objection.

Mr. Craddick offered the following resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of Texas,
That the House Administration Committee be directed to furnish House Journals to be
mailed out by members, not to exceed 15 copies for each said member.

The Speaker laid before the House the following resolution:
SCR 1
WHEREAS, Citizens of Texas and members of the Texas Legislature take great
pride in their native sons who achieve outstanding success and national prominence as
statesmen and leaders; and
WHEREAS, The late Lyndon Baines Johnson, 36th President of the United
States, is recognized as an outstanding statesman and national leader; and
WHEREAS, In honor of this distinguished Texan, a bronze bust was
commissioned by the Texas Legislature; therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, the House of Representatives
concurring, That the Senate and the House of Representatives meet in joint session in
the House of Representatives at 11:30 a.m., January 15, to honor the late Lyndon
Baines Johnson, 36th President of the United States, and to dedicate the bronze bust of
this distinguished Texan; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the bust of the late beloved President of the United States be
placed temporarily in the rotunda of the capitol to permit the public to observe the
bust.The resolution was adopted without objection.
