BROWNIE TROOP No. 102 held their Investiture Ceremony last
Friday at the Parish Hall in Roma. Their Troop Leaders, Mrs. Elda
Perez and Mrs. Frances Ramirez, helped the girls plan and par-
ticipate in the ceremony at which the girls' mothers were their
guests. The girls who received their new Brownie pins were Laura
Cuellar, Maria Dolores Dugan, Liselle Garza, America Gonzalez,
Yvette Palacio, Leticia Perez, Cynthia Ramirez, Lisa Ramirez,
Mercedes Salinas, and Xochitl Salinas. After the ceremony the
girls served their mothers cupcakes, sandwiches, and punch. They
are urging everyone to buy Girl Scout Cookies!
BOY SCOUT TROOP 93, during their Wednesday, February 5
meeting, presented the Second Class Award to Rodolfo Gonzalez,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Gonza'.ez. Also during the meeting, one
new member was presented, RoelOmar Guerra. Troop 93 wishes to
remind all members and all boys that want to join the troop to be
sure to register by February 26. as the Troop 93 Charter is to be
renewed - then. The Troop meets on Wednesday afternoons
following school at the home of James L. Gebhart, Scoutmaster,
Young Farmers Meet Wednesday
The Starr County Young Farmers will hold their monthly
meeting on Wednesday, February 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the Rio
livestock Sales Community Room. Allen Reichardt, Area Farm
Specialist with the Texas A&M Extension Service, will be the guest
speaker and will discuss the latest developments in the cattle in-
dustry. Young Farmers are urged to attend. Guests are always
