"blues" or "touchy feelings"
are typical during preg-
nancy, although many ex-
pectant women feel better
during this period than at
any previous time.
A pregnant woman can
feel anxious about many
things. Sharing these
feelings with her husband
may ease worrisome or hurt
feelings.
- Exercise in moderate
amounts is good for most
women-especially pregnant
ones. Discuss the right kind-
and amount -with the
doctor.
- More rest and sleep are
required during pregnancy.
Short rest periods taken
frequently are better than
resting when fatigued.
Regular eight-hour nights of
rest are healthy.
- Dental health is im-
portant-just as general
physical health.
Be sure the dentist knows
about your pregnancy-as a
precaution for X-ray or
medication.
- Travel or employment
may be curtailed, especially
in the later months of
pregnancy.
The doctor will say when
to stop travel or work and
when they can be resumed
after the baby is born.
- Comfortable clothing is a
real issue during pregnancy.
Loose, but attractive,
garments are a must-so that
blood circulation is not
hindered.

'Star Wars'
Raking In
Millions
I/)S ANGELES -
The good men wear white,
the bad guys wear black and
there's no sex, character
development or social
criticism. But "Star Wars"
has managed to break
theater records all over the
country, and to send 20th
Century Fox's fortunes
rocketing.
By Monday, 12 days after
its premiere, the George
Lucas science fiction epic
that took $9 million to make
lad grossed $5.2 million in 45
theaters.
The biggest money-
making movie of all time
was "Jaws," which took in
$192 million. "Jaws" grossed
$21 million in its first 10
days, but that was in 409
theaters.
The day before "Star
Wars" opened, Fox stock
was selling for $11.75 per
share. When trading closed
Monday, it was at $21.
"We can't see any other
reason than 'Star Wars' for
the way the stock has taken
off," said Phillip Myers,
Fox's director of corporate
affairs.
The country apparently
was ready for an escapist
movie.
Among the good guys in
the flick are two robots, See-
Threepio (C3PO) and Artoo-
Detoo (R2D2), and a hairy
creature named Chewbecca,
who co-pilots a space
cruiser.
The human hero's name is
Luke Skywalker. He's
played by Mark Hamill.
Skywalker finds that he
stands between the
villainous Galactic Empire
and the destruction of
freedom in the galaxy. With
the help of a laser-like sword
called a "light saber," he
comes to the rescue.
The special effects for all
this have won critical raves.
Theatergoers are "seeing
something they can't
possibly live as a normal
human being," said Ashley
Boone, marketing vice
president for Fox, who is
looking longingly to the end
of the month when "Star
Wars" goes into hundreds
more theaters.
Albert Szabo, the 58-year-
old manager of the Avco
Cinema Center in Los
Angeles, said, "I have never
seen anything like this in 30
years in the business. They
are filling the theater for
every single performance.
This isn't a snowball, it's an
avalanche."

to your health These and many
popular flowers, ornamental
shrubs and colorful weeds are

Young children are particu-

adults often become unthinking
nibblers of poisonous plants
"For many it's just sort of an
automatic thing to do," said
one naturalist You snap off a
blade of grass or whatever and
absent-mindedly stick it in your
mouth."
Commonplace plants like wis-

Texas' Economic
Growth Surging
DALIES, Tex.
Texas' economic growth in
1977 will surpass that of the
rest of the nation by a
significant margin, ac-
cording to predictions of the
Texas Commerce Ban-
cshares Inc. of Houston and
the First City Ban-
corporation Inc.
"Consistent increases in
production, employment and
population produce growing
local markets and op-
portunity," reports "Texas
'77", the Texas Commerce
forecast publication. "As
state output increases, so
does the level of income
generated by that produc-
tion."
Texas residents should
have ample means for
"increased spending and
improved standard of
living," according to the
forecast.
"Texas '77" reports the
outlook for the Dallas-Fort
Worth area is bright,

YOU can control
your use of
electricity and your
bill by using energy
wisely.
Higher luel prices and inflation have pushed electric costs higher in recent years
But YOU still are a key factor in determining the size of your electric bill Because only
you can control the amount of electricity yo j use. a large part of the control over your
bill is in your hands.
We offer these wise-use suggestions as a guide for getting the most out of every dollar
you spend for electricity
• Make sure your house has insulation
equal to at least an R-19 rating in the
ceiling and R-11 in the walls Insulation
pays Tor itself within a few years in re-
duced heating and cooling costs
• Weatherstrip windows and doors, then
keep them closed
• Eliminate excess heat with draperies.
storm windows, reflective films, window
shades and overhangs
• Set air conditioning thermostat at the highest
comfortable setting, around 78 degrees
• Clean or replace air conditioner filters every
month or—even better—every two weeks
• Have leaky hot water faucets repaired immediately, they waste both water and the
energy used to heat it.
• Check the temperature control on your
water heater For most needs, the cor-
rect setting is 135 degrees; water heat-
ers used for baths only may be set at
110 to 120 degrees
By following these tips, you should be able
to cut your use of electricity—and the size
of your bill
