Babies, Babies, Babies
How easily we torget the fragility of the
great gifts God has given us-our lives, our
£ eyes, our health, until something happens to
jar us. These incredible blessings so taken
for granted as the days blend into each
other, must be remembered and ap-
preciated each and every day. "My life is a
gift of God given, not in years, but a day at a
time. Today is the day the Lord has made
for me, and He planned it to be the most
important day of my life. Yesterday is
gone, never to return. I must not worry
about it, but leave it in the hands of God.
Tomorrow and all that it holds is God's
A secret and its coming is not assured. Only
today is mine. Each day, arranged by God
with infinite wisdom and goodness is His
gift, His act of love for me. In thanksgiving
I will offer Him every day the gift of myself
my prayers, works, joys and sufferings.
Dear Lord, receive it graciously."
A young life was started off right when
Ryan Clay Peterson, infant son of Mr. and
Mrs. David Peterson of Rio Grande City,
9 was christened. The ceremony was per-
formed by the Rev. Hans Raj at the St. John
United Methodist Church on Sunday, August
20. Ryan Clay's sponsors were Mr. and Mrs.
Clay Boykin of Austin. Big brother I^ance
sang "Hush-a-bye" during the service. A
family dinner was held at Miguel Alernan,
Mexico after the church service.
Mr. and Mrs. Santos Sanchez, Jr. and
their three daughters, Maria Elena, Norma
£ Irene, and Minerva I-amar, enjoyed a two
week vacation to Oklahoma recently. Their
main stops were Altus, Lawton, and
Oklahoma City. At Altus, they toured
Quartz Mountain and the Museum of the
Western Prairie. In Lawton, they visited
Prairie Dog Town, Holy City, and Mount
Scott. In Oklahoma City they visited the
Historical Museum and toured through the
capital, which doesn't have a dome but does
have oil derricks outside on the grounds. On
^ their trip home, they enjoyed a trip to
w Museum in Ft. Worth and the L.B.J. Library
