Seven students from Immaculate
Conception School have qualified
for participation in this year's

sponsored by Duke University's
Talent Identification Program.
The program identifies bright
seventh graders from a 16-state
region in the south, southwest, and
midwest.
The following students from ICS
seventh grade are applicants for
the 1987-88Talent Search:

Mr. and Mrs. Hector Garcia;

Trevino. They are the students of
Sister Barbara Masch, SSND.
To be eligible, students must
have scored at the 97th percentile
or better on an in-school achieve-
ment or ability measure. They will
sit for the Scholastic Aptitude Test
(SAT) or ACT Assessment

December, January, or February.
Many of these students score as
well or better than the average
college-bound senior on these
measures. All participants receive
Certificates of Merit and some
become eligible for state-wide
recognition ceremonies or a variety
of educational programs.
TIP, established in 1980, has
provided thousands of students
with information about their abili-
ties and educational options. The
purposes of the program are to
help academically able students
develop their special abilities, to
assist schools in working with their
brightest students, and to un-
