Christmas season isn't always the
warm fuzzy feeling that one gets from,
say, reading the University News.
In fact, if you have in the past two
weeks, you may have noticed a couple
quality discrepancies that caught the
collective student eye. ^es, I know,
headlines that say, "Headline for Field
Hockey story goes here" aren't very
informative, but honestly, I believe
there's conspiracy afoot. The real one
was stolen! The psychedelic low-level
lighting in Jerome's basement has
recently attracted a less-than desirable
tenant. How he got in, I don't know,
but I have a sneaky suspicion that it
has something to do with the strange
dragon-kite we have hanging above
our meeting table. I'm not talking
about anyone on the newspaper staff
here (although we all like the lighting
too). Sightings have been reported
by both CSO and yearbook staff
(who share the same basement with
us) of a sinister-looking green goblin
lurking in the shadows. The staff
has made a collective effort to locate
this fiend by rearranging the room
several times and hiding the snacks
and frappucino's that always seem
to be disappearing. Only recently
though, has this interloper gotten
bold enough to mess with the ac-
tual newspaper. With the help of the
yearbook staff, we made a complete
sweep of the basement. Sure enough,
the missing headlines were discovered
under several stacks of old issues. Also
found were small bones, empty frap-
pucino bottles, a pair of fake antlers,
and Corey's favorite lighter that he
had been looking for all week. Folks,
we believe this grinch may still be at
large in the area, but luckily we are on
full lockdown with the development
of this Issue. Since this Is the final
one this semester, we believe that we
can starve him out by keeping our
headlines guarded until Christmas
season has past.

Somewhere in your community there is a child at risk, a breadwinner out of a job, an elderly person
who needs a helping hand. That's why Catholic Charities has so many programs to help people of
any race, faith or age get back on their feet. You don't have to be Catholic to receive our help, or to
help us help others. That's the way it's been for 275 years. Call 1-800-000-0000. And help us
continue this great American Catholic tradition.
