It is now the season of the
year for people to begin the
work of fanning the vegetables
and fruits from the farms and
gardens. I would !:k«• o make
sonv suj'.'uv-t ions that will aid
those who are contemplating
having on <lis]-lay at the County
Fair th:s fall at Bastrop canned
products.
I would sugges that uniforni
standard .jars he used lo n
these products that are expect
<'d to he displayed for | rf/.es. 1
v.mean by standard jar the one
known as the square self-soalinw
one. Large jars need n<>t 1
used for the purpc e of canning
disply prod in s. Quart and pint
jars are very desirable size- to
use for this work. These stand-
ard jars can he obtained by see-
ing them it) my office in the
Cham hero f Commerce room in
Bastrop. I haven't the tar- for
sale except for the use of regu-
lar club members, however. I'll
be gglad to put you in 'ouch
with concerns that handle them.
No one need buy these standard
jars except to can such products
as will be used for display, ft
is very necessary to have the
display look as neat in arrange-
ment as possible. This will aid
the indi' 'dual as well as the col-
lection to make a creditable
showing at the County Fair.

Each and every one of the first five wortls above are the direct
result of the quitter. Any human that quits must fail, any busi-
ness house, in fact, any artificial edifice or project fostered by
nan and built by his hand which is left after completion, or dur-
, intf construction to the mercy of the elements, is doomed to de-
traction because of the quit.er Remorse is the review of human
negligence of those things which could have been accomplished if
he had not been a quitter. Many have said: "Oh, what a fool I
was to quit!" You see what your neighbor has done. You see
how he lives in comfort. You wonder how he was successful.
Vou wonder how it was that lie was getting everything his way
and for you there was nothing but failure and destruction, ana
ny. remorse enters in your life to mock you for being a quitter,
and at last despondence seizes you in its grip and your thoughts
ii ads you to deat h.
What is the answer to your neighbor'* success? It is faith.
Faith is the most wonderful thing in your life. It works miracles
success, health, in fact, all the good that we receive in this world
ire the direct results of faith. Do not think that your neighboi
ve;'h faith had his path strewn with a bed of roses. There were
nary thorns but faith aiways found a way to overcome them.
; aith. will positively brook no interference. The minute vou be-
come a quitter faith desii"s you. Faith will interfere with fan-
are, destruction, remorie, despondence, and even sometimes death,
none of these things can interfere with faith. Thai whie;.

Fver.v farmer, no matter how big or how little, should have milk
cows on his place. The cream part is only a factor. There an
many oiher resources which are direct results of the dairy indus-
try. Say for once in your life that the price of cream today has
nothing whatever to do with the price of cream tomorrow. Each
day has its separate duties to perform. Each has its woes, or
joys to go through. Don't help the devil make any day his ban-
ner day. Let's make Bastrop one of the biggest cream stations
in the State. You can help. Vou can succeed. When the world
recognizes us as a factor in the dairy industry we are bound to be
acknowledged. Don't be a quitter. Keep at it. Don't let the
price discourage you. Il is for the future that you must labor.
And remember faith is always a constant companion of success.
