This Grape, a rih, sweet juicy purple-black, tinged ruby and overspread

ilted in its magnificent splendor of growth and fruit, challenging the world to
produce its equal or superior, COMBINING its characteristics of superb vigor of
growth, healthfulness, productiveness, quality, magnitude, rich color, attractive
market and table and unequalled shipping and keeping qualities.
It commanded the admiration of thousands of visitors, received commendatton
from a large number of Commercial and Scientific Viticulturists and a cordial
endorsement from Geo. A. Manning, Chairman of the Horticultural Committee of
the World's Columb an Commission.

California having an immense grape display and New York an exhibit of
00 plates of grapes alone. and added that This Immense Grape was possibly the
Greatest Novelty of the Horticultural Department of the World's Fair. The parent
vine at that time was 8 years old and completely covered an harbor 50x90 feet, bore
that season between 300 and 400 pounds of fine grapes and made over 4,000 feet of
new wood. U. S. Pomologist states the Department at Washington desire to keep
a record of this grape in every State, and adds the magnificent vine and rootgrowth
surpasses that of any other grape he has ever examined.
