The Herald wishes to em-
ploy a Voting man who has
some knowledge of the print
iug business, or will give ligl t
work to an elderly printer.
If everything doesn't go to
suit you make the best of it
and endeavor as far as possi-
ble to right matters. No man
ever succeeded by contraries.
Get 011 the right track, adapt
yourself to existing conditions
and the people around you;
get in harinony with the
world and you will find that
tilings will go smoother, work
will be easier and distastelul (

There will be a public joint
debate at Grange Hall, east of
Alto, 011 Tuesday, September
1, at 1 o'clock p. 111. between
Hon. George B. Terrell and
Rev. Reddiu Andrews, 011 the
subject of "Socialism.1' Air.
Terrell is a candidate for rep-
resentative 011 the democratic
ticket and Rev. Andrews is a
candidate for congress 011 the
socialist ticket for the third
congressional district.
Everybody is especially in-
vited to attend the joint dis-
GiiSs'loii regardless of their po-
litical beliefs and affiliations.
The women and children are
especially invited to hear the
great subject of socialism dis-
cussed. Many people have a
wrong conception of the prin-
ciples of socialism, and are
socialists in principle but do
not know it. Socialism has
been told and written as what
it is not. Come out and hear
the subject ably discussed by
two distinguished thinkers
and speakers of ability.'

The proceeding's of the re-
publican convention for this
senatorial district, received
this week, are too lengthy for
publication in detail. The
convention was held 111 Jack-
sonville 011 August 22. Tlieo
Miller acted as chairman and
J.J. Spurlock secretary. Theo
Miller of Rusk, was nominat-
ed for the state senate, and
the usual resolutions passed.
Chas. F. Adams of Jackson-
ville was chosen senatorial
chairman for the next two
years and J. J. Spurlock sec-
re tar)'.
Don't neglect the warnings
of nature. If your appetite is
poor' breath bad, tongue coat-
ed, you will be sick unless you
take steps to put your system
in good condition. Prickly I
Ash Bitters is the remedy you 1
