EDITORS AND PUBUSHCSS
Mrs. Charles Usher is visit-
ing her parents in Jackson-
ville.
Mrs. C. C. Frost of the Mt.
Zion community was a most
pleasant caller at The Herald
office last Tuesday.
Steady employment for ax-
men at good wages, clearing
up brush land, four miles south
of Morrill. Enquire for K. C.
Butterfield, Morrill, Texas.
Jeff Molcomb has sold his
farm west of town, and is pre-
paring to move to West Tex-
as. Mr. Holcomb has a large
number of friends here, all of
whom regret to have have him
leave, but wish for him un-
bounded success in his new
home.
The good people of Mt. Zi-
on community had a church
working Tuesday, fat which a
large crowd of the citi/.eus
gathered and did some excel-
k-iit work on the new Baptist
church building now being
•erected there. The ladies
spread a most sumptuous din-
ner of the most tempting vi-
ands, which was heartily rel-
i.shed by the workers.
The total vote cast for gov-
ernor in the last dcmocratis
primary was 339,569, Camp-
bell's majority over Willianic
being 88,095. The total vote
for attorney general was 321,-
942; with a majority of 25,536
for Davidson over Wynne.
One of the surprises is the
comparatively small vote 011
the submission question, only
288,529 of the voters taking
the trouble to express them-
selves one way or the other on
tnis question, considered by
its hot partisans oil both sides
as n "paramount issue." An-
other noticeable fact is that
nearly a hundred thousand
more votes were cast in the
last primary than were cast in
the May primary which select-
ed delegates to the national
convention.—Houston Post.
The members of the W -
man's Home Mission Society
will render an interesting and
profitable, program at Mt. Zi-

beautiful quilt, which they
have just finished. Refresh-
ments consisting of cake and
ice cream will be served. The
proceeds will go for the bene-
fit of the church. The pa-
tronage of the public is re-
spectfully solicited.
C. H. Richmond and wife,
of Morrill, Texas, who have
been 011 a pleasant visit north,
arrived in this county, last
Friday, to visit relatives near
Holt Summit. They will visit
Fulton before returning home.

morning with the car of house
hold goods for Mesdames Mo-
ran and.Ahearn, who are mov-
ing to Dallas. These ladies
will leave Sunday, stopping
in Rusk for a couple of days
to visit friends. Alto regrets
very much to have these good
ladies leave, and hopes they
will prosper exceeding well in
their new home.

which occurred Monday night.
