mons at the Christian Church in Alto
next Sunday. Owing to the length of
the discourse, it wilt be divided into
two sermons, the first of which will
be delivered Sunday morning at 11.
and the second at the evening service
which will begin at 7:15.
Sunday morning we wiil discuss
the organization of the Sanhedria;'
court, that tried Jesu^. it's functions,
diversions, and the character of its
members.
At the evening hour wc will talk
on the code of criminal procedure
governing the Sanhedrian court and
the 32 errors in tin trial of Christ.

friends, has returned to her home in
Bradley. Ark.
Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Smith and Miss
Rachel Varnell spent Monday night
and Tuesday in Pittsburg visiting
friends and relatives.
Mrs. Ed Vining and Mr. A. E. Mc-
Kenxic. neighbors to each other in
the Rcdlawn community, were treated
to a surprise birthday dinner Sun-
day, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Vining. Mrs. Will Wallace, the
daughter of the Vinings. planned the
lunchcon and invited the members of
both fatnilics. who gathered for a
pend-the-dav celebration. The hon-
orees were each three score years e-<
that date, and bid fair to live sixty
more birthdays. The Herald joins the
many friends and relatives of Mrs.
Vining and Mr. McKenxic in wishing
them many happy returns of the day.
Miss Roberta Fisher came up from
Beaumont, and spent the week-end
with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. R. M.

The monthly meeting of the Sun-
day School teachers of the Baptist
Church was held at the Baptist par-
sonage Monday night with Mr. and
Mrs. L. A. Thigpcn. The teachers get
together, discuss and plan the work
of the month, which results in r )
better understanditig of the prob-
lems that confront the Sunday School
and its various departments. A social
period is always enjoyed before the
guests depart for their homos.
