To Be Given
New Year's Eve.
A benefit dance sponsored by
the Keel Klub will be given New
Year's Eve at the Adminis-
tration building in the Navy Ad-
dition beginning at 8 n'ciock. The
proceeds will benefit home de-
fense and the Red Cross.
A door prize will be given. The
public is invited to attend and ad-
mission will be fifty cents.

In 1841 that a United States dip-
lomat in Pei'u called attention to
this rich nitrogen - bearing fer-
tilizer found on islands on the
coast. Guano exports soon be-
same big business, and in one 20-
year period, more than twenty
million dollars worth of guano
was marketed from one small
group ol islands. Today, Peru ex-
ports no guano to the United
States, although the product is
still widely used by Peruvian far-
