This edition of the General and Special Laws of Texas reports, in three books, work
of the Texas Legislature in 1984 and 1985-the Second Called Session of the Sixty-
Eighth Legislature and the Regular and First Called Sessions of the Sixty-Ninth
Legislature. Any subsequent called sessions of the Sixty-Ninth Legislature will be
reported with the legislation of the Seventieth Legislature.
Each special session is preceded by Proclamations of the Governor calling the
session. A listing of Texas state officials and of the officers and members of the Sixty-
Ninth Legislature precedes the regular session legislation.
The Constitution of the State of Texas, as amended through the election of
November 5, 1985, is reported at the end of the third book. The boldfaced section
headings were drawn by the publisher's staff and are not official.
Four tables and an index follow the laws of each session. Tables 1 and 2 record acts,
articles and sections affected by the new legislation. Table 3 records RCS article
numbers assigned to new legislation. Table 4 records the disposition of bills and
