Notes

Accompanying information says the following: This property belonged to Aage Westergaard in the early days. Some of the owners were Earl Denton, Ernest Jensen, and Thorvald Andersen. E.L. Hardy bought and named the store Red & White; the Danevang Farmers Co-op then bought the grocery store from him on October 2, 1939. During that following period, some managers were Alvin Judd, Bryan Wind, Fred Heath, and Sven Nielsen. The Co-op then sold the store on January 10, 1956 to Ester Rasmussen and Julius Kocian. In 1960, Clarence and Emma Piwonka traded a farm in Taiton for the store's equipment and inventory. Ed and Mary Jane Lezak rented the building and operated the grocery store for several years. Julius Kocian then sold the building to Edgar Beyer Sr, who had it torn down in 1976; his wife says that she still has the old hot water heater from the store.
