Catherine Ann McDaniel Davis Brown-Loving mother,
grandmother and friend, left this world for a better place.
God decided to take her as another angel unto his kingdom.
She was born to Leroy Davis and Katherine McDaniel-Davis
on December 17, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a
member of Holy Redeemer Church where she accepted Christ
at an early age. She attended Holy Redeemer School and
Highlands High School. The mother of five children Bobby
Eugene, Derrick Wayne, Carl Anthony, Terryl Lynn, and Tonia
Denise. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy
Davis and Katherine McDaniel-Davis, her sister, Minnie Lee
Heard, and son, Derrick Wayne.
She was a certified welder for a number of years with
Southwest Lighting. She worked for the San Antonio Hospital
for some twenty years until her health failed. Catherine was
on the Parish Council for many years and President for the
Ladies Sodality until her health failed. She had membership
in several church organizations: Knights of St. Peter Claver
Ladies Auxiliary Santa Monica Court #35; Junior Daughter
Counselor for more than ten years and the Fourth Degree
Ladies of Grace-Myrtle Marie Gardiner Chapter #21.
She made material and monetary donations to such
organizations as Goodwill, the Arc of Texas, Disabled
American Veterans, Texas Department of Public Safety
Officers Association, State Firemen and Fire Marshalls, and
the homeless. She spread kindness to everyone she met.
She leaves to cherish her memory: sons - Bobby Eugene,
Carl Anthony, and Terryl Lynn King, daughter - Tonia Denise
King. Brothers - Joseph Paul Vaughns, Leroy John Davis of
Dallas, TX, Melvin Charles Davis, and Eddie Eugene Davis.
Grandchildren - Darrel K. Gentry, Jr., Brianna D. King-Gentry,
Misty D. King, Amber King and numerous nieces, nephews,
cousins, other relatives, dear friends, Holy Redeemer Parish
family and Claver family.
