Carrie Lee Nance Glosson was born November 15, 1919 in Kyle, Texas.
Carrie was the sixth of ten children born to Tom and Elizabeth Nance. She
attended local schools in Kyle and San Antonio. Carrie accepted Christ at
an early age and became a member of Sledge Chapel Baptist Church. She
was baptized in the Blanco River by Rev. Evans, When Carrie was a
teenager, she moved to San Antonio and became a member of New Mi.
Pleasant Baptist Church, and later moved her membership to Second Baptist
Church. Carrie was a member of the Missionary Circle 18 and the
Ministers', Deacons', and Trustees' Wives Auxilliary. Hfew Rei>. Glosson
was asked to organize and pastor Bethany Baptist Church Carrie-
evangelized, going door to door, bringing young children and their parents
into the church. She continued to work diligently in the church, side by side
with Rev. Glosson, until he became too ill to pastor. Thereafter, Carrie
returned to Second Baptist Church with her husband and served there until
her health prevented her from being active in the church. Carrie was
employed at Brooke General Hospital in Ft Sam Houston, Texas, and Kelly
Air Force Base. She also catered and cooked in private homes for many years.
In 1936, Carrie married Julius Calvin Glosson, and to this union five
children were born: Joyce Evelyn, Many Katherine, Julius Calvin, Jr.
(deceased), Clyde Pearson, and Edwin Norman. She was a devoted wife and
mother, and she was dedicated to her family helping to raise her nieces,
nephews, and grandchildren, in addition to helping form the Nance Family
Reunions, She motivated her children, and she worked hard so that her
children could obtain college educations. Her children are alumni of Prairie
View A&M. University, the University of Texas, the University of Colorado,
and the University of Missouri. Carrie and Rev. Glosson were happily
married for 67 years until Rev. Glosson was called home to be with the Lord
on June 13, 2003. Carrie leaves to cherish her memories: daughter Joyce
Dorn, her husband Rev./Judge/Mayor Roosevelt Dorn, and granddaughters

grandson Gary (San Antonio, TX); family of deceased son Julius
r., his wife Nancy Glosson and grandchildren Yvonne, Julius
and Demetria (Dallas, TX); son Rev. Clyde Glosson, his wife
Susan Glosson, and granddaughter Dana (San Antonio, TX); son Edwin
Renee
