The Rolling Plains Unit of Retired School

Southeast Fall Harvest Festival
Southeast Elementary School P.T.O. is
sponsoring a Harvest Festival on Thursday,
Nov. 3, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be
games, activities, a silent auction and lots
of great food. Tickets are 4/$i or $10 for a
wrist band. Wrist bands include all games
and activities except the silly string corral
and the beading booth. Hot dog supper
tickets are available but must be prepur-

The Fifth Annual Transition Fair will be
held Nov. 3, 2011. The Transition Fair is
an event designed to assist students with
disabilities and their parents, make connec-
tions with a variety of agencies, technical
schools and junior college representatives.
Our goal is for all students to be prepared
for life after high school. Sessions will focus
on education/training, employment, inde-
pendent living, and community involve-
ment. The event will take place from 8:4
a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at
the Region 14 Education Service Center,
located at 1850 Hwy 351 in Abilene. Lunch
is provided and there will be a drawing for

The Blackwell Volunteer Fire Department
will have a fish fry from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on
Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at the Blackwell Fire

The Clothes Closet at First United
Methodist Church will be open on Saturday,
Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. until noon at 309
Cedar. Please enter through the fellowship
hall door on Fourth Street. The clothes are

The Trinity Cowboy Church Alliance
will host an event on Saturday, Nov. 5, at
the old rodeo grounds in Snyder. Events
will include bronc riding and team roping.
Team roping will begin at 8 a.m. with pick
one draw one entry fee of $50 with a maxi-
mum of three entrees. Prizes include hand-
made spurs for high money head and heeler
and handmade buckles for champion head
and heeler. Bronc riding will begin at 3 p.m.
with entry fee being $250 open and $200
rookie. Prizes include handmade spurs for
bonus round and handmade buckles for
champion. Entry fees are due by Friday,
Oct. 21, 2011. There will be an all day youth
ministry with "He Payed Your Fees" youth

The AARP Driver Safety Program (DSP)
is offering a free classroom course to all
veterans on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 in the
Nolan County Courthouse. Registration will
be from 9-9:30 a.m. and the course will be
from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with a break for lunch
until 1 p.m. The afternoon session will be
from 1-3 p.m. The Veterans Service Office
and the Nolan County Courthouse are host-
ing this program and Elisabetha Guelker,
Certified Instructor for the AARP-DSP, will
