Recent disclosures relative to
the inefficicncy and corruption
existing among the Democratic
leaders as charged by Democrats
publicly on the stump and not
disproven, must prove to the
plain people of Texas that the
times demand a change of govern-
ment. The primary to be held
May 2nd will settle no issue. It
will simply elect delegates to a
national convention and candi-
dates on both tickets are proven
to have been and some are now
in the employment of grasping
corporations. It's Hobson's
choice and the devil take the
plain citizen. To participate in
the primary May 2nd you bind
yourself by an oath hand and
foot to further condone and sup-
port the reign of misrule in
Texas whichever way you vote.
Which ever way the primary

glue. In view of the corruption
existing in high places as shown
by the Bailey expose, the emi-
nence of a state prohibition elec-
tion, the iniquities of the full
rendition law and the hounding
of legitimate enterprises, it be-
hooves the voter to think well be-
fore chaining himself to a corpse.
The repulican party, as usual
when it speaks, will be right on
these absorbing questions. An
appeal is made to all, patriotic
citizens to refrain from tying
themselves up in a pledge that
has every indication of being un-
holy. Wait and see what the re-
publican party offers in the way
of good government before tak-
ing the leap this time. Think it
over and be your Own man.

The street corner anti-Bailey
orators are rolling the following
passage of scriptures under their
tongues as a sweet morsel. It seems
to be sweeter to them than the
"honey and the honey comb"The
borrower is servant to the lender."
They do not give the whole sen-
tence which reads: "The rich rul-
eth over the poor and the borrower
is servant to the lender." We will
now quote another passage of scrip-
ture: "And if any man shall take
away from the words of the book
of this prophecy, God will take
away his part out of the books of
life and out of the Holy City and
from the thing, which are written
in this bok." See ho wthey have
taken away from the word of the
book? The trip into the Gulf
will be a picinc comparied to that
what is to follow.
