siter's on the west got very hot, and men
were kept constantly throwing water on the
roofs and window facings to keep them
from burning. The fire originated in the
ceiling of the upper story, .from a defec-
tive flue.
The bulk of Mr. Gough's groceries were,
removed from the burning building, hut
were badly damaged by rough handling.
He was insured for $2300 on house and
stock. The insurance will not pay the
damages.
Mrs. Clark's stoek of millinery was all
carried out, but badly scattered and dam-
aged. No insurance. "
Mr. Turner saved everything from his
house. Lassiter's store was considerably
damaged by burning of the door and
window facings and breaking of the win-
dow glass, and his stock was damaged by
becoming wet in throwing water. .

Blossom's first Roman Catholic marriage
took place on Wednesday last, when Mr-
J. C. Meyers, of the staff of the Clarks-
ville Times, and Miss Maud Brown were
made one, Rev. Father Quinon perform-
ing the ceremony*
Only a few friends were present, Mr.
Howard Brown, brothei of the' bride, and
Mrs, Judge Wootten, both of Clarksville,
Mrs. Matthews of Sherman, tbe bride's sis-
ter, and a few of tbe young ladies of Blos-
som.
Tbe Bride was dressed i n cream colored
Henrietta cloth and Moire, made, en train,
and the groom, of course in conventional
style.
The bri.ta! party were accompanied by
a number of our young ladies to the depot,
where they took the afternoon train for
Clarksville, at which piace they will make
