For and About Exes:
Wilson Garrett, '31-39, was on
the campus the other day. He is
now living in Itasca, Texas, and
is a salesman. He and Mrs. Gar-
rett have three children: Betty,
12; Jenks, 12; and Patricia 6.
Joyce McCully Qiluison, cl. of
'43, visited in Abilene not too
long ago with her sister Pat Mc-
Cully Soladay. Mrs. Guluison is
living with her husband and two
children—David, 3; and Daniel
7 — in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Mr. Giluison is associated with
the U. S. Plywood Corporation in
Minneapolis.
We have had a card from Rose
Fisher announcing her transfer
from Fort Worth to the MacDon-
nell Methodist Center in Houma,
Louisiana, where she moved
March 11 to begin working with
teen-age girls.
Jo (Taylor) Dutton, cl. of '50, is
living in Lubbock and has a
daughter Cynthia Lynn, born
October 12, 1954.
George and Nancy (Wyatt)
Morris, cl. of '50, are living in
Lubbock where he is coach of
Dupre Elementary School. They
have two sons: Andy, 3^; and
Alan, 6 months.
Clarence Collins, cl. of '43, and
his wife were here for the lec-
tures last week. Clarence is pas-
tor of St. Luke's Church in
Midland. His church is having the
first service in their new $200,000
building on March 26th. The
Collinses have two daughters,
Martha, 8; and Mary 5.
Another Midland pastor who is
a McMurry Ex is J. B. Sharp, cl.
of *47. The Sharps have two sons:
Bob, 6 months; and Jimmy, 3
years. J. B. is pastor of St. Mark's
Church.
Mrs. Elaine (Condley) Dixon
has a new daughter, born March
15. Elaine was an August grad-
uate last year.
Bob and Peggy (Bodine) Rat-
liff, els. of '50 and '51 respectively,
announce the birth of a son,
Michael Frank on January 31.
The Ratliffs live in Colorado
City.
Joe Scrivner, cl. of '48, has
been named the new superin-
tendent of Mertzon schools ef-
fective July 1. Mrs. Scrivner, the
former Eleanor Green, cl. of '49,
also will serve on the faculty. Mr.
Scrivner was coach and high
school principal of Mertzon school
from 1948 until 1950 when he ac-
cepted the position of head coach
at Rankin. His football teams
were regional champions in 1950
and 1951.
Beth Jones, cl. of '54, is secre-
tary with Sunray Oil Corporation
in Midland, Texas.
Lucian Shanks, who attended
McMurry in 1941-42, is a public
accountant in Mount Kisco, N.
Y. He is married and has two
children.
Bob Black, Cl. of '50, is work-
ing on his master's degree in his-
tory at North Texas State College
in Denton, Texas.
Gilliam Stovall is a pilot for
Pan-American Airlines. He makes
flights to England and France
regularly. He is married and has
a son and a daughter. They live
in Long Island, N. Y. He was in
McMurry from '39 to '42.
Gene Matthews, cl. of '47, is
the pastor of the Methodist
Church at Erath, Texas. The
Matthewses have four children.
Eddie Cornelius, '38-'40, is now
manager of the J. C. Penney Co.,
in Roswell, N. M. He is married
and has two sons.
William Robert Bickley, cl. of
'40, is manager of the Western
Cottonoil Company in Pecos. The
Bickley's have three children.
James Carver, a 1946 graduate,
is principal of Goree High School.
Charles Cooper, '40-'43, recently
opened his doctor's office in
Houston. He and Mrs. Cooper
have two sons.
Dean Bigham, cl. of '49, is
manager of the Firestone Stores
in Sherman, Texas. The Bighams
have three children.
W. A. (Bill) Ward, cl. '48, who
is the Public Relations Director at
Schreiner Institute in Kerrville,
has been supplying us with new
clippings from time to time. How
about some more of you clipping
out any notices in your home-
town papers about Exes and
sending them to us. This way we
can keep a little closer check on
some of the happenings we
should know about.
The Don Moores, cl. of '47, are
living in Hereford, Texas. Ted,
their eldest son was awarded a
scholarship at Hotchkiss Boys
Prep School in Lakeville, Conn,
on the basis of his high rating on
his entrance examinations. Pick-
ens, the second son of the Moores,
is planning to be a minister. He
is still in high chool and plays
French horn with the Amarillo
Symphony.
Viola Francis Gum, '29-'30, is
living in Canyon. Her daughter,
LaNelle, 17, is a freshman in
West Texas State studying com-
mercial art, and her son, Royce,
16, is a sophomore in Canyon
High School.
A letter from Loyce (Ray)
Steele, cl. '51, brings news of
her and her sister, Peggy, ('50-
51). Loyce's husband, Horace, is
a geologist for Humble Oil and
Refining Co. in Houston. They
have two children, Randall 2x/2,
and Michael, born Feb. 23, '55.
Peggy is now Mrs. Lucian Rudd.
They have one son, David, 1, and
live in Fort Worth where she is
teaching in an elementary school
while her husband is attending
seminary.
Dorothy Lewallen, '48-'49, is
now Mrs. Way man Brashear. He
is in the Air Force, and they are
stationed in Oxford, Miss. They
have two children, Rozanna and
Russell.
Mary Carter, '36-'38, recently
listed in our "Lost Exes" column,
is teaching school in Houston.
Lena Louise Goodnight, '36-'37,
is teaching American History in
Deady Jr. High School in Hous-
ton.
Mrs. Leona Meissner Foster, cl.
of '49, is living in Midland where
her husband is a petroleum en-
gineer. They have a daughter,
Sherry Lynn, born December 12,
'54.
Maude Goff, cl. of '49, is in
Inchon, Korea. Maude left Kobe,
Japan in July 1952 and then spent
a year in the U. S. before return-
ing to the Far East to continue
her work in the mission field.
Roberta Dunagan, '33-'35, is
now Mrs. J. B. Bain and lives in
Midland. Her sister, Doris Duna-
gan, now Mrs. Gay Harris, lives
in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Bob Loving was recently re-
leased from the Marine Corps
after a two-year enlistment spent
at Quantico, Va., and Camp Le-
Jeune, N. C. Loving was a three
year letterman at McMurry and
graduated with a B. S. degree in
business administration in Jan-
uary '53. Mrs. Loving is the for-
mer Norma Baird, Aug. '52. They
are living in Abilene where he is
an underwriter for Gibraltar Life
Insurance Co.
Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Christmas,
formerly of Kansas City, now live
at their ranch home near Beulah,
Colo. Mrs. Christmas graduated
in the class of '28, and later took
her Master's degree from Kansas
City University.
Juanita Rucker, cl. of '46, is
now Mrs. Joseph W. Marshall and
lives in Roswell, N. M., having
recently moved there from East-
land, Texas. The Marshalls have
one son, Thomas William, age 2.
Mr. Marshall is a geologist.
Lewis and Mary John (Cole)
Eidson, both of cl. of '50 are liv-
ing in San Antonio. Lewis teaches
chemistry and coaches at Alamo
Heights High School there. They
have one son, Kendall Eidson,
Age 2.
Ruth A. Buckelew, cl. of 49, is
now Mrs. Hugh A. Tolman. She
and her husband are living in
Torrance, California.
Grady and Reba Joyce (Far-
mer) Everett are living in Abi-
lene. She is a graduate of the
class of'51 and works as assistant
accountant for the Abilene City
Hall. Grady graduated in *52 and
works for a building contractor.
Frank Akers, cl. of '49, is Direc-
tor of Athletics and Head Coach
for soccer, basketball, and base-
ball at the State University of
New York in Genesco. He coach-
ed an undefeated soccer team in
1954. The Akers have four chil-
dren: Char Mae, Yvonne, Vin-
cent Hart, and Laura. Many will
remember that Frank coached
basketball and baseball at Mc-
Murry in '48-'49.
Robert Neil Bennett, cl. of '50,
has been with the Prudential
Life Insurance Company in Hous-
ton for three years. He has re-
cently moved to San Antonio,
where he is still associated with
Prudential.
Wanda Jean Windham, cl. of
'51, is now Mrs. Pete Gaulding.
He works for the Texas Highway
Department as an inspector, and
they and their daughter, Ciftdy
Gay, age Vh months, live in Abi-
lene.
Carrol M. Moon, cl. of '32, is the
Director of Religious Activities at
Fresno State College in Fresno,
Calif. The Moons have four chil-
dren: David, 14; Beverly, 10;
Carol Lynn, 8; and Mary, 5.
We have had a good response
from our informaton blank for
the Exes News column. We shall
continue to run this in hopes that
we shall learn more about our
exes from here and there. Please

WAHWAHTAYSEE EXES!
Wah Wahtaysee extends an in-
vitation to all its exes to attend
the Founder's Day service and
breakfast April 5th. Wah Wah-
taysees will leave at 6:30 a. m.
from President Hall. Exes may
meet there and go with the group
or go directly to the City Ceme-
tery where services are held at
Dr. Hunt's grave.
If you can attend, and we hope
that you will, please contact Iris
Kendall by phoning 4-8779, or
drop a card to 1137 Grand Ave.
We would like to know a day
before the service in order to
make reservations for the break-
fast at Mack Eplen's. Breakfast
will be served at Mack Eplen's
directly after the Founder's Day
service.
