of Abilene, longtime
McMurry University ad-
ministrator and faculty
member, died April 26.

United Methodist
Church with the Revs.
Archie Echols, Robert
Ford and Bill Libby
officiating.
He served at McMurry
as academic dean, ad-
ministrative assistant to
the president and profes-
sor of education, retiring
in 1978. At the time of
his death, he was profes-
sor emeritus. After his re-
tirement he cared for
McMurry s famed iris
garden near Radford
Auditorium.
"A special quality of
Dr. Humphrey was his
unique ability to work
with students in every
aspect of their lives,"
said McMurry Presi-
dent Emeritus Dr. Tho-
mas K. Kim.
Dr. Joseph Stamey,
professor of religion and
philosophy said of him,
"He was the kind of
person you almost imme-
diately developed a re-
spect for."
