Dear Folks at home,-_-.
Got your letter mamatellinf of the safe arrival
of Jake and Beaie Grace in the Ford Roadster
wit^ Miss Stafford. I was rat-ker surprised to ~ear
the)} ot there so earl in the day as it was during
those rain days when so man) showers were coming up
unexpeotedi and making the road sliok for travelling.
I suppose m plDans for ooiing home ttis
summer are more definite now. I '^ad promised the
Kerrville oamp management to sing for them as muoh 4c
ae possible, and for a while thought' they were goinf
to insist on m coming during the Rice meetingwhich
oomes July 23/80. But a recent letter informs me
that they prefer me August 1-15 if a'tooioe i to be
made. Wish I could accept their invitation to come for
the whole oamp but I know tVat will break into .m
time for a visit home July 22.80 or thereabouts.
Would like to know tte exact time Loiis and Rose expeot
to be -home so I can lan to that time, But we have
plenty , of time ,et.
Changed m 3 boarding ple last week
wit$/ Mr. and MrsMahaffey
who are getting up a summer
laass in voice in Gainesville. They have ligrtt houee, keeping
apartments and Mre.Mahaff ise urely a fine
cook. I have aiqed 3 pounds in the awek I have been
eating with them and feel so muoh better. The place
where I had been eating had one down in qualtitV so
muoh that it -was almo* t unboarabe. and. )et I wouldn't
trump up an excuse for leaving witrlVut ,uriind their
feelings until now when it was tre plea of friend bi.
tc the lMahffe3s. Also todaw I have moved my sleeping
place. Mi old room oost me l13.00 per mont-T and t-eo
present room in onl $6.00 and Just as good onl) I will
take care of it myself and trle ot'-er was taken oare of
The biyotle I brcught over from Sherman ie
coming in ver. hand . I know it doesn't look vms
dignified to ride that way,but nevertbeleaeit gets me
around over town in a hurr and affords me some good
exeroise. The members of tt-e church say it reminds
them of the wa * Mr.McCall used to ride on his bioyole
when -e was pastor here. It is so much cheaper than a
oar that i am not so ver . envious of the pastors who
'ave oars (and I think every pastor ain town has a oar).
I know 3ou are all having a scrumptuous time
Wat home and I amanxious for the time to come when we
will all be trtere t cdet',er.
Love to all
