I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence eometh my help. My
help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth He will not
suffer thv foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord
is thv keeper the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not
smite thee by day nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy sou!.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time
forth and even for evermore.

Htm. Msmift E. ifltftwott, was born September 16,1914, In
Seguin, Guadalupe County, Texas. She was the second of nine
children born to the late Thomas and Cora Wilson. Her parents and
three brothers preceded her in death.
She joined Copate Baptist Church in Guadalupe County at an early
age under the pastorship of Reverend W. I. Rector, Sr
She graduated from Ball High School, Seguin, Texas, in 1934. She
attended Guadalupe College, Huston, Tillotson College In Austin,
Texas, where she obtained a teacher's certificate. She taught
school Seguin, Texas; for five years. She also attended Saint
Phillips College and obtained her nurse's certificate.
In 1940 she was married to Mr James Welton Johnson, Sr., and to
this union six children were born. One child preceded her in death.
She joined Mount Zion First Baptist Church under the pastorship
of the late Reverend D. Manning Jackson. At the time of her death
she was an active member of theUsher Board and the Ministers
and Deacons Wives.
She was affiliated with the following organizations: Worthy
Matron of the Amanda Chapter No. 82, Order of Easter Star,
Bowden Chapter of Business and Professional Women; National
Council of Negro Women, Inc.; Huston Tillotson Alumni;
Guadalupe College Alumni; San Antonio Mother's Service
Organization; District Field Worker of the Guadalupe District
Association and Hospitality Chairman of Mission No. 2.
At the time of her death she was employed by the Santa Rosa
Medical Center as a licensed vocational nurse.
She departed this life peacefully Friday, December 2,1980, tft the
Herman Hospital, Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Welton; two sons, James
Welton, Jr., Houston, Texas, and Allen Thomas, Austin, Texas;
three daughters, Patricia Ann Hannah, Marion Kay and Lynda Lee
Johnson, San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren; three brothers,
Curtis Wilson, San Francisco, California, James W Wilson and
Francis C. Wilson, of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Ora L. An-
derson and Cordelia E. Johnson, San Antonio, Texas; one uncle,
James Wilson off Seguin, Texas; and one great aunt, Norsis George
of San Antonio, Texas; and numerous other relatives and many
friends.
