Altus annis Association holds Junior Dper Tournament
The Altus Tennis Association will hold its 2008 Junior Open Tennis Tournament June
6-8. Singles play for boys and girls in the 14,16, and 18-year old divisions begins Friday,
June 6 at 9 a.m. Play for boys and girls in the 10 and 12-year old divisions will begin
on Saturday at 9 a.m., and should end by noon that day. Doubles for all division will be
played on Saturday. A free mixed doubles mixer for all ages will be featured on Friday
night at 7:30 p.m. Male and female pairs will need to sign up for the division, and wil 1 play
together in the opening round. All parties will be paired with a different partner in each
subsequent round. Because the tournament is sanctioned by the United States Tennis
Association (USTA), USTA membership is required for participation in all events except
Friday's mixer. Membership fees are $18 for youth. The tournament fee is $20. For more

Canadian Tennis Association summer schedule announced
The Canadian Tennis Association announced its summer schedule this week, with
events planned from June 6 - August 4. On June 6, the Association will have Pizza and
Play and on June 13th a Family Tennis Night. The Canadian Summer Open Tournament
will be held June 28-29 and will be the only event that requires a fee ($8/event), followed
by Family Tennis Nights on July 13 and August 4. Watch for more details in future edi-

Elk City Junior Tennis Tournament
The USTA sanctioned Elk City Junior Tennis Tournament will be held June 13-15.
Entry fee is $20 and the divisions are 12, 14, 16 and 18-years-old for boys and girls.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 13 at the high school tennis courts located on
Avenue B, just north of Elk City's Junior High campus. The singles format will be a 2
match guarantee and the doubles format will be announced before play begins. Entries
must be received by Wednesday, June 11 at 5 p.m. Participants can register at www.

Wildcat Basketball Damp
Young men entering the 3rd-9th grade will be eligible for the Wildcat Basketball
Camp June 23-26 at the high school gym. Cost is $40 and each pre-registered camper
will received a camp t-shirt, bag and water bottle. Each camper must provide his own
proper apparel - socks, shorts, shirt and basketball shoes. Deadline for registration is
June 12. The first session will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will consist of 7th-9th
graders. Dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and defense will be taught with an
emphasis on shooting and team skills and will begin preparing for the 2008-09 season.
The first session will conclude each day with scrimmages. The second session will n-
clude 2nd-6th graders and run from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The five fundamentals of basketball
- shooting, rebounding, passing, dribbling and defense - will be taught and there will be

Orders are currently being taken for highlight videos of the 2007 State Championship
Canadian Wildcats. The DVD will nclude highlights from all 16 games, special features
and a look back at the historic run toward the State Championship. Cost is $30 and order
