This is an abbreviated issue of the Register because a state
holiday on February 21 caused the deadlines for this issue to
be moved up. The deadlines for the issue of March 8 have also
been rescheduled because of a holiday on March 2. Deadlines
for that issue will be Tuesday, March 1, for all copy except
notices of open meetings, and Thursday, March 3, for open .
The State Department of Public Welfare is proposing the
repeal of several rules in its Purchased Social Services
category because the rules are either obsolete or covered in
other categories. The department is also proposing to up-date
rules in two subcategories of Purchased Social Services rules.
The In Addition section of this issue contains a report by the
Texas Judicial Council on juvenile court services in Texas.
Based on the results of a survey of juvenile probation officers
and judges, the report is a summary of services available to
juvenile courts. A more extensive analysis of the juvenile
justice system will be published in the early summer of 1977.
