The city of Cleveland was born out of the Santa Fe and Southern Pacific railroads running just north of Cleveland along with logging and lumber mills were core to Cleveland's development. Although Cleveland was founded as a township around 1885, settlers were in this area of Texas as early as 1832. The historical society documents the town's history, growth, and culture.
