1 cup flour
1-2 teaspoon baking powder
1-2 cup milk
Make batter of above ingredients, beat well. Cut
celery in three inch pieces, dip in batter and fry in lard.
Serve around fried chicken or roasted meats.
1-2 pound almonds
6 bitter almonds
1 small onion
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup cream
3 tablespoons corn starch
3 pints chicken or veal (stock)
Wash almonds well and put through food chopper
and grind until coarse like meal. Melt butter, add corn
starch, one cup stock and make very smooth sauce. Add
almonds to remaining and cook for a few minutes; add
salt, paprika and cream. Blend together both mixtures.
Serve with whipped cream.

1 can mushrooms
1 cup chopped cold meat
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion
Salt and pepper.
Stew tomatoes, mushrooms and meat together in
olive oil. Add salt and pepper.
