Mr. Hobart W. Ward, administrative assistant, retired at
the close of the term with a record of 45 years of teach-
ing. Mr. Ward observed that the use of many visual aids
in teaching is one of the notable changes he has seen
take place since he began work in a small East Texas

r - high grades before coming to high school as a teacher.
For a number of years, Mr. Ward was head of the Math-
ematics Department. He has seen the curriculum make
many changes. In the pre-Sputnik days, little mathematics

tive assistant to the principal and has worked out many
