the basketball season ended, reminding us that
spring was near . . . Valentine's Day brought a
big red satin heart full of chocolates
there were the usual rush parties and pledge
ceremonies . . . Spring football training found
the athletes in fine form . . . and we thrilled to
the Lamar Tech and Beaumont's Opera Work-
shops' combined productions of "Gianni Schic-
chi" and "Cavalleria Rusticana."
Bill Silva was crowned King of the annual King's Ball,
by Jerry Jones, last years king. Mrs. Anita Bond Jones as-
sists her husband while Mrs. Ann Silva looks on.
"Is This Your Life?" was the title of the skit given by the Rogues
at their King's Ball. Dr. and Mrs. R. W. Williams were the recipi-
ents of the honored tribute.Those charleston vamps of the twenties came back in
grand style the night of the Ball. These cuties are Janice
Thompson and Barbara Y'Bardo.February witnessed the close of basketball season, and at the
last game we all were wishing it was just beginning.
