TCAFS Annual Meeting Update
The Annual meeting the Texas Chapter of the American
Fisheries Society is fast approaching and now is the
time for members to start planning to attend. The
meeting will take place January 27-29, 2003 in
Galveston, Texas at the Moody Gardens. The hotel is
providing a special rate for the meeting, so identify
yourself as part of the TCAFS meeting. A block of
rooms will be held until January 6th, but don't wait until
the last minute to make your reservation! For
reservations call 888-388-8484.
Registration forms can be found on the TCAFS website
located at www.sdafs.org/tcafs/index.htm for those who
get the newsletter electronically. A registration form is
located in the back of the newsletter for those who
receive a hard copy in the mail. Make sure and photo
copy the registration form and give it to co-workers,
students, and anybody else that has an interest in Texas
aquatics. Let's make this one of the best attended
TCAFS meetings ever.

TCAFS ExCom Meeting
In attendance were Gene Wilde, Fred Janssen, Gordon
Linam, Brian Van Zee, Bart Durham, Gary Garrett,
Felix Martinez, Kevin Pope, Tim Bonner, Paula
Hawkins, and Deborah Wade
President Gene Wilde called the meeting to order on
November 21, 2002 at 2:00 PM.
Newsletter report: Robert Mauk mailed 101 copies of
the last newsletter at a cost of $153.62. The remaining
newsletters were distributed by email. This remains a
great savings to the Chapter as well as allowing the
newsletter to reach the membership faster as well as
Secretary/Treasurer: Debbie Wade reported that
chapter expenses since the last meeting had been
$412.18 for printing and postage of newsletters and
proceedings. The chapter income was $2012.44 with
$1500 from the Golden Algae Team for Scholarship
and 512.44 coming from membership and rebates from
the Parent Society. The Chapter's investments had a
