MODE OF DRAWING.
There will be upon tho stage two glass
wheels the contents ot which ran lie seen
by tho audience. A committee consisting
of three eminent citizens in no way connect-
ed with the management having first made
an accurate count and examination will
place in the larger wheel 2000 leather tugs
cut by the same die exactly alike and hav-
ing numbers on them from 1 to 2etl0 corre
sponding to the number of nil tio t(gkeW
sold. A similar eonunlttee huvlng first
examined counted folded and sealed up In
110 square boxes precisely alike as niauy
slips of paper on which uro printed the 110
gifts of denominations fram 10 to $1000 will
then place theso 140 sealed boxes containing
tho gifts Irt the smaller wheel. Both wheels
will then bo turned until their contents are
thoroughly mixed. A blindfolded boy
under IS years of age will thou draw from
tho larger wheel one of the tags aud hold-
ing It np In full view of the audience IU
number will be called loud enough for all to
hear by the crier appointed foe this purpose;
the tug will then he passed to a committee ot
three distinguished elitaens who will say
whether the number has been rightly called.
It will then be passed to a registrar who will
tile It upon a copper wire prepared for the
purpose.-
The number of tlio tag t litis drawn cried
proven and filed will be recorded by three
clerks In geparato books prepared for tho
purpose.
A blindfolded girl of similar ago will then
draw from the smaller wheel one of the
sealed boxes which will ba opened nnd the
gift taken ont unfolded and hold up to the
view of the audieuce.
The amount of the girt thus drawn will
then bo cried recorded by the three clerks
and the paper filed by the registrar with Its
tng upon tho wire
Tho gilt thus drawu will belong to the tick
et bearing the saiuo number as the tag
drawn Immediately before It. Thus this pro-
cess will contlnuo until 1W numbers arc
drawn from the larger wheel and all the
boxes from tho small wheel. And tho 140
girts thus drawn ranging lrmn 810 toll 000
will be paid to tho parties who prcseut the
tickets having numbers thus determined by
lot to be entitled them.
i After the drawing is over the largo wheel
containing tho tugs will be placed In the
hands of a committee chosen by the audi
ence who can examine for themselves nnd
ee whether all the tickets sod tfcfe repre
sented by (ags Wtlh corresponding numbers.
