The Wake Club met Wednes-
day afternoon with Lena Gra-
ham. The afternoon was spent
making poodles from plastic
sacks. Present were Neoml
Mayes, Era Mae Seigler, Nelda
Griffin, Mary Hunsucker, Rena
Barnett, Dorothy McDougle and
the hostess, Lena Graham. Next
meeting will be with Nelda Grif-
fin the first Wednesday in July.
Shelly Havens spent Sunday
with Debra Marley.
Alton Jones of Lubbock is
spending a few days with his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. R.
Jones.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Seigler and
Terry spent Friday night with
Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Seigler and
Dale. Mr. and Mrs. Don Seigler
are staying at Mayfield with Mr.
and Mrs. Pond and attending
school at Plainview. Terry stay-
ed with the Weldon Seiglers for
a visit this week.

Linda Barnett of Plainview was
a Sunday visitor of Sue Barnett.
Cathy Patrick of Lubbock is
visiting Dale Seigler this week.
Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Marley and
Debra went to Dimmitt Thursday
and visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Key
and baby. Brenda Marley had
been visiting the Keys and re-
turned home with them.
Carole Griffin of Lubbock
spent the weekend at home.
Carole is attending Tech this
summer.
Jim and Jay Barnett spent
Sunday with the W. T. Barnetts.
Mrs. Jack Barnett of Plainview
and Mrs. A. G. Barnett were Sun-
day dinner guests of Mr. and
Mrs. C. B. Leatherwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hickman and
family of Lubbock were Monday
night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will
D. Griffin.
Mrs. George Griffin and girls,
W. D. McMillan and Wynn No-
na, Mr. and Mrs. Denzil McMil-
lan, Ronnie and Terry of Plain-
view, visited in Eastland over
the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fewell and
Bill of Lockney were Sunday
guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. L.
Fewell.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mayes vis-
ited awhile Saturday night with
Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Seigler.
Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Jones visit-
ed their son, Troy Don, in Austin
from Thursday to Saturday. They
attended open house in the Aus-
tin state school. Troy Don was
doing so good as he was a pa-
tient in the hospital.
Mrs. R. C. Ratheal, Mrs. Ken-
neth Havens, Mrs. Shadie Woods,
Houston, and Mrs. D. D. Thorn-
hill visited Mrs. Homer Smith in
Crosbyton Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ray and
Cickie, and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy
Harkins of Crosbyton,. visited

WSCS Circles
Hold Joint Meeting
Tuesday Morning
The Kippendano Circle and
Circle Three of WSCS met in the
church parlor of First Methodist
Church at 9:30 a.m. June 13.
Juanell Tyler, chairman, call-
ed the meeting to order, and In-
troduced Jean Bowles, guest pro-
gram leader. The Call to Wor-
ship was conducted by Jean
Bowles. A lovely solo, "My Task'
was sung by Rev. Carlton Thom-
son, accompanied by Miss Sylvia
Curry.
In representing a most impres-
sive pledge service, Mrs. Bowles
used roses to form a bouquet. To
explain the service she said:
"To start the arrangement we
place a white rose to represent
our prayers to bind us closed to
Him in whose strength we live;
a peace rose representing our
service in the extension of God's
Kingdom; and a talisman rose
representing our gifts to support
the Woman's Society of Chris-
tian Service."
To complete the bouquet each
member added a rose as she
made her pledge.

Sylvia Curry, Mrs. Dottie Dorris,
Rev. Carlton Thomson, Sue Gal-
limore, Hazel Kirkendall, Jan-

Fox of McAdoo, was honored
with a bridal shower Thursday,
June 8, in the home of Mrs. D.
L. Tucker of Maple.
Miss Garvin's chosen colors
were blue and white, which
were carried out on the serving
table.
Hostesses were Mmes. Warren,
Bill Dupler, Tucker, Wells,
Smith, Toombs, Joe Sowder, Bob
Dupler, Mann, Pierce, Gib Du-
pler, Kindle, Masten, Lindsey,
Foley and John Hodnett.
Hostess gifts were a hand
mixer and a set of stainless steel
cookware. The bride-elect's gift
to the hostesses was a cut glass
candy dish.
The couple will exchange wed-
ding vows June 15.

Monday after spending several
days visiting with friends and

union was scheduled June 10-11
in Clarendon.
Past Matrons Hold
Season's Final Meet
The Past Matrons Club of Cros-
byton Chapter No. 891, Order of
the Eastern Star, met Tuesday
night, June 13 at the Masonic
Hall for their regular meeting,
with Irene Berry as hostess.
A delicious salad supper was
served. Officers for the coming
year were elected. Another meet-
ing will not be held until Sep-
tember.
Present were Charlsie Ratheal,
Jewel Leatherwood, Jennie Lou
Paschall, Irene Berry, Elzina La-
mar, Ruble Whalen, Eula Park-
er and two visitors, Marie Lam-
ar and Lecy Mae Whitchurch.
