THE COWGIRLS DID NOT RETURN A PLAYER THAT STARTED MORE THA
HALF OF THE GAMES THE YEAR BEFORE AND HAD THEIR NINTH STRAIGF
20-WIN SEASON, WHICH IS THE THIRD LONGEST STREAK IN THE NATIO
THE COWGIRLS HAD A SOLID SEASON WITH NINE NEW PLAYERS ON TI
ROSTER AND ONLY TWO WHO HAD PLAYED SIGNIFICANT MINUTES BEFOF
THE 2007-08 CAMPAIGN.
HSU IMPROVEDASTHE SEASON WENTALONG ANDTHAT IMPROVEMEN HINGE
ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ITS FRESHMEN POST PLAYERS LARA COLSMAN AN
LINDSEY NEWCOMBE. BOTH PLAYED SIGNIFICANT MINUTES AND NEWCOME
BECAME ONE OF THE TOP POST PLAYERS IN THE CONFERENCE IN HER FRESHMP
CAMPAIGN. SHE FINISHED THE SEASON AS THE TEAM'S SECOND-LEADING SCORE
AT 12.4 POINTS PER GAME AND SHE ALSO AVERAGED 8.5 REBOUNDS PER CONTES
COLSMAN BECAME A SOLID CONTRIBUTOR DOWN THE STRETCH OF THE SEASON AND WII
TEAM WITH NEWCOMBE TO BE A FORCE IN THE PAINT FOR FOUR YEARS.
SENIOR LEADERS RACHEL CISNEROZAND SHELBY HODGES BOTH HAD SOLID SENIOR CAP
PAIGNS. CISNEROZ AVERAGED 12.4 POINTS PER GAME AND WAS A SECOND-TEAM ALL-AS
WEST SELECTION. HODGES AVERAGED 6.5 POINTS AND 5.6 REBOUNDS PER CONTEST.
