Handed to Signal by Mrs. Hargrove
We clip the following from Ue j
Orand Rallne Bun and give It space
In our columns for the reason that
It may be merltorlua and It ii cer-
tainly Inexpensive:
I herewith append a recipe which
has been used to my knowledge In
hundreds of cases of small pox.
When Jenner discovered the cowpox
In Knglaiid the world of science over-
whelmed him with fame; but when
the most scientific school of medi-
cine In the world that of Paris pub-
lished this recipe It passed unheeded
It will atso cure scarlet fevor. In
fact It IK a most certain and Infal-
lible cure for both small pox and
scarlet fever and It will not cost
over 25 cents for a family to pro-
ride themselves with tt. Here Is the
reclpo as I have used It:
Sulphate of sine one grain; digi-
talis one grain sugar one-half tea-
spoon. Hlnsolve In a wlneglnns of
soft water or water that has been
bolted and cooled. Take a teaspoon-
full every hour. For children the
dose muirt be diminished according
In age. Rlther smallpox or scarlet
fever will disappear In twelve hours.
If counties would compel physi-
cians to use this remedy there
would be no need of quarantine or
pest houses.
This recipe came Into my hands
over forty years ago through a Cal-
ifornia paper and I never knew It to
fall to cure or to prevent the din-
ease from developing In those who
had ben exposed to It.
I give this recipe purely for the
benefit of my fellow men but so
far no notice baa been taken of It
