April 27, 1963: Ann McDade came just as we were sitting down to

John was with her. She had been over to see Jack married
(Jack Cochran, her brother)--he and Puss were married yesterday

but her--they did not make up their mind to get married
before J(ack) left, until Saturday morning. He expects to
go soon to join his Com. The old folks wanted them to wait
until after the war before they were married & J. promised
his father he would and then when he sent word over home
Saturday, Mr. C(ochran) was so mad he would not let Em. or
Tallie go to see them married. Ann and John stayed until
after supper. (Note: Puss is Sara Adeline Bell--see Bell
family.)
May 3-4, 1863: Our Folkes came just before dinner and Mr. Catlin
(bringing the mail.) Mr. Campbell and Mr. Chapman soon came
