".fohnnie ' excels all in his oratory. He is given
up to be the greatest orator that M. XV. H. S. has pro-
duced. Aside from this, he has proved his superior
ability for presiding over Mineral Wells' most dis-
tinguished graduating class. In this photograph you see
the -':;ce of a determined, honest young man- who is
not frivilous but ho attends strictly to his own busi-
ness, making himself thoroughly acquainted with all
the duties he assumes.

Take the stubborness of three mules, the argu-
mentative power of ten of the best lawyers you can .
find, and the humor of Mark Twain; mix and stir
thoroughly, and you will have before you-"Chas." He
will argue an entire period over whether a line has any
thickness. But "Chas," by his good nature, makes
himself popular with everyone. He has a strong char-
acter, a great deal of initiative and talents which are
certain to insure a great future for him.

Edna is originally from the "Blue Grass State,"
and is very proud of the fact. Her dear old Kentucky
ought also to be proud of her in turn; for such a brain
as her's would be a credit to any State. She is a gen-
eral favorite among the boys because of her ability to
, .a keep something going all the time. How Edna man-
ages to be a leader in the gay social whirl of the
"wells" and still be Mr. B. M.'s star geometry demon-
strator, will forever remain a mystery.

"Simon" is the "iron man" of the football team.
Can you imagine yourself running into a brick wall?
Those that were so unlucky as to run into Bertram
made this comparison. He was a good punter, as
well as a line-plunger. "Simon" is also a distinguished
artist. Bertram studies entirely too hard. Without fail
he carries home his scratch tablet and a Saturday
Evening Post at nights.
