Future Homemakers of America is a national organi-
zation of pupils who study homemaking in junior and senior
hiqh schools. We work together for better and happ;
home life for everyone. We think that helping to ma-
happy homes, now and i.n the future, is the most i
portant thing that youth can do for a democracy. We he-
an eight-fold purpose: to promote a growing appreciation
of the joys and satisfactions of homemaking; to empha-
size the importance of worthy home membership; to en-
courage democracy in home and community life; to work
for good home and family life for all; to promote inter-
national good will; to foster the development of creative
leadership in home and community life; to provide whole-
some individual and group recreation; and to further in-
terest in home economics. Following through our purposes,
we hope to attain our Motto, "Toward New Horizons.'
