in a sub-division of the county
including the town of Thornton,
on Saturday, March 24th, 1906.

TAX COLLECTIONS
January was the banner month
in the way of tax collections, the
sum total being $49,445.40. The
total collections on 1905 rolls
alone were $76,984.41. The total
assessed for 1905 was 85,985.41
which leaves $9,011 00 unpaid on
the tax books. The collections
exceeded all previous years and
the amount that will be returned
delinquent is less than at any
time in the past. Of the amount
collected in January the county
road Precinct | received the following credited
to the funds specified:

In addition to the amount above
stated the Collector pays School

his position in the county clerk's

gaging in business. He has been

put in a number of water plants
in different parts of the country,
and he says we have the finest
supply of water he has ever seen.
J. J. Beckham bought a bronze
gobler weighing 33 pounds and
wants two hundred more turkeys,
hens and goblers, 4000 fat chick-
ens, 2000 spring chickens, 800
dozen eggs. 50 raw guineas, 209
pigs weighing about 100 pounds,
and as many biger hogs as he can
