This newsletter is an attempt to bring you up to date on information gathered and prepared for our
Foundation since the 1990 and 1991 Annual Membership meetings. We hope that it will enlarge
your understanding and give you some idea of the direction which the Joint Task Force/Strategic
Planning Committee recommends that we take.
At the 1990 Annual Membership Meeting of The Links Foundation, Inc. in Washington, District of
Columbia, 15 proposals were presented by the Board to the general membership. Response to the
proposals resulted in the passage of the following motion:

and what alternatives are available to us, and the ramifications of the proposals. That
study to be conducted by a task force team to include review and analysis of The
Foundation's Articles of Incorporation, the IRS rules regarding 501 (c) (3) tax status and
the District of Columbia code regarding foundations. Said study group should also
include the services of an accountant or lawyer well versed and experienced in matters
- of nonprofit groups and foundations.
Subsequently, a Strategic Planning/Joint Task Force Committee was established by President Marion
S. Sutherland, comprised of members from each Area of The Links, Inc., the Director of The
Foundation, and the Chief Administrative Officer of National Headquarters.
At two meetings of the Joint Task Force in August 1991 and February 1992, the following responses
