Woman's Club
A large crowd attended the book
review given by Mrs. J. J. Wheat
of Beaumont on Friday afternoon
at the Woman's Club building.
The review was sponsored by the
Literature department for the en-
tire membership of the Woman's
Club. - . ■' ' •
Mrs. Wheat reviewed ''The Good
Old Days" by David Cohen.
Hostesses were Mrs. Paul Gas-
ow, Mrs. T. C. Foid and Mrs. J.
T. Arledge. Refreshments of
punch and coke were served after
the review iwtth Mrs. Gasow pre-
siding at the punch bowl. The
table was covered wiihlacc and
centered with a bouquet or spring
flowers. Yellow and white, the
Woman's Club colors, were em-
phasized in the refreshments.
This was the last meeting of

Friday Afternoon
The spring conference of
the Orange Branch ui the; Asso-
ciation for- Childhood Education
closed with a tea on Friday af-
ternoon from four to five o'clock
in the lou nge of the Adult Build-
ing, honoring speakers, guests of
the conference and incoming of-
ficers to serve during thi IB46-
47 term. Approximately 150
members of the ACE and;visitors

pastel shades were used,tor dec-

ment table held a florril center-
piece. Mrs. Beulah Blackwell
and Miss Josephine Linn presided
at the punch howls while Mrs J.
