2 relating to a nonsubstantive revision of statutes relating to
3 raiiro ds; including conf rming amendments.
4 E IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
5 ARTICLE 1. GENERAL MATTERS
i6 SECTION 1.01. PURPOSE OF ACT. (a) This Act is enacted as a
7 part iof the state's continuing statutory revision program under
8 Section 323.007, Government Code. The program contemplates a
9 topic-by-topic revision of the state's general and permanent
10 statute law without substantive change.
11 f <, (b) Consistent with the objectives of the statutory
12 revision program, the purpose of this Act is to make the law
13 encompassed by this Act more accessible and understandable by:
14 (1) rearranging the statutes into a more logical
15 order;
16 (2) employing a format and numbering system designed
17 to facilitate citation of the law and to accommodate future
18 expansion of the law;
19 (3) eliminating repealed, duplicative, expired, and
20 executed provisions; and
21 (4) restating the law in modern American English to
22 the' greatest extent possible.
