on tho report of tho Balloy investiga-
tion has not' been printed. Tho state-
ment has; bqen mado that tho printing
of tho roport was being delayed to
prorent any political effect Mr Rich-
ardson tho stato printer says he has
been unable- to get any paper to print
tho roport on but work will begin
soon. The legislature) boa ordered
6000 copies of tho report which will
contain 1000 pages. Threo hundred
copies will bo bound In leather and the
remainder will bo bound In paper and
distributed among the membera of the
legislature

portant meeting of the Baptist cx-
campalgn comimtteo is to bo hold hore
Tuesday to further consider tho mat-
ter of tho purchase (of the Hancock
Park as1 permanent grounds for the
Baptist encampment The oncamp-
ment committee represents seven or
eight counties and many of the most
prominent members of the church are
members of it.
GOLIAD May 2. J. T. Johnson a
prominent bee culturlst Is authority
for tho statement that the honey crop
this year will bo especially heavy in
all parts of Texas. The honey pro-
duction of Goliad is heavier than that
of Uvalde Qr any other community
in Texas.
MAJRFA May 2. An infant Mexican
child died last night under suspicious
circumstances. An examination by a
physician showed that its neck was
broken and a woman is being held at
the county jail untH the matter is in
vestigated.
LAREDO May 2. A Mexican was
pulled out of the Rio Grande river just
in time to save him from drowning.
On being pulled out It was found that
his legs were tied together with a
piece of wire. Investigation showed
that while in a drunken condition he
had lain down on the Mexican side of
the river to sleep and some boys bent
on mischief had tied his legs together
and rolled him Into the river.

DELEGATES TO THE STATE
FIREMEN'S ASSOCIATION.
Quite a number of the Abilene fire
boys are making arrangements for
their trip to McKinney next week to
attend the meeting of the state Fire-
men's Association. Besides the dele-
gates there will go from Abilene Hon.
T. A. Bledsoe 1st vice-president of the
state asociatlon and Chief .T. J. Clin-
ton. The former is in order for elec-
tion to the presidency of the state as-
sociation and his Abilene friends say
there is no doubt but that their ex-
pectations will be realized at this meet
ing. The session begins Wednesday
and lasts for three days May S 9. and
10. The Abilene delegation will leave
Tuesday morning. Th delegates are
as follows:

Is that he was wedded to Miss Callle
Parker of Conway Miss. last Sunday
morning at ton o'clock. He reported
for work and said that they would
.make their home in Abilene at 200
Peach street.
