John Crawford has purchased

outfit and he Crawford and Tom
Moser will now run both stands.

Judge Buie purchased from J. M.

At the meeting of the Execu-
tive Committee ot the Canyon
City Reunion Friday the secre-tary-treasuer
books and accounts which were
examined and found to be cor-
rect. The committee then appointed
Saturday August 12 as the time
for a mass meeting at which to
report its work and for the elec-
tion of a new committee to serve
for the ensuing year.
The News is informed that
there will be sufficient funds in
hand and already subscribed to
meet all liabilities and that in
all probability there will be a
surplus of some three hundred
The present executive com
mittee has done well and it
should by all means be
returned for service until after
the reunion of 190G.

a country when lumber yards do a
fine business and this is just what
the Canyon City yards are doing
Muddy again in town Monday a
fine shower fell the uight before.
It visited the county over in spots
and was much heavier in some

Joe Foster left last week it
was said for Mineral Wells but
when last heard of Monday
he was in Galveston. Joe is
taking a vacation and expects
to be absent a month.
Prof. G. G. Foster was in town
Tuesday and a part of his business
was to see about his neighborhood

The Happy Methodist church
building is moving along toward
completion. It is located only a
few hundred yards from the Gille-
land school house.
Jim Stratton returned to Fort
Worth Wednesday where The
News will follow him.

J. F. Boone of Agency Mis
souri was here several days last
week. He owns a section in L. S.
Carter's pasture and is on a trade
with Judge Lair for more. Mr.
Boone is rather expecting to move
here this fall.
The News office is much obliged
to Henry Whitworth for a fine
mess of roasting ears also to J. A.
Wilson for a like favor. This crop
Indian corn will give an excellent
yield this year pity there was not
a bigger acreage planted.

Travis Shaw returned the first of
the week from his eastern visit
his mother coming with him.
Sometime ago Mr. Shaw purchased
the three Crawford lots just across
the street south from the Odell
property and recently through
L. G. Conner he added another
lot to them. Indications are that
he will build soon.
"Uncle" Geo. Palmer returned
home Tuesday. He says he had
a fine time while in Hemphill and
returned sooner than expected be-
cause he thought he could breathe
better above the cap rock. Ask

Mrs. Reeves left Tuesday even-
ing for Amarillo on a visit.
